Chicken Alfredo Sloppy Joe’s

What a great sandwich made from one skillet meal. Using an alfredo instead of a tomato base.

Equipment

  • cutting board & sharp knife
  • large skillet
  • spatula
  • sheet pan

Ingredients

  • 1 TBS butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar alfredo sauce
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded `
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 2 hamburger buns
  • 2 TBS butter

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium high heat melt butter. Add in onion and cook until softened.
  • Add in ground chicken to softened onion and cook until chicken is no longer pink and cooked through.
    NOTE: break up chicken until small pieces.
  • Stir in minced garlic for 1 minute.
  • Stir in alfredo sauce. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off heat & remove skillet from burner.
  • Stir in mozzarella & the parmesan cheese. Sprinkle with parsley.
  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Butter the insides of the tops & bottom s of the hamburger buns. Toast in oven until lightly golden brown.
  • Spoon alfredo sloppy joe's onto bottom bun and top with the top. Enjoy.
