Chocolate Dessert
A delicious 3 layer icebox dessert recipe from Elaine R. one of my special Youtube subscribers who provided me this recipe from a Church Cookbook.
Equipment
- 9 x 13 baking dish
Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 16 oz cool whip, divided
- 2 sm (3.9oz) each boxed chocolate instant pudding
- 3 cups cold milk
Instructions
Bottom Crust Layer
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together flour and butter into a medium bowl using a fork. Press crumb mixture into 9 x 13 baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool crust completely on a wire rack.
To make the Middle Layer
- In a medium bowl beat cream cheese using an electric hand mixer until fluffy. Beat in powdered sugar 1 cup at a time. Fold in 8oz of cool whip until blended well. Spread over the cooled crust evenly.
To make Top Layer
- In a large bowl using an electric hand mixer, beat together, pudding, 8oz cool whip and milk until a thick and creamy pudding consistency is met about 5 minutes. Spread mixture over the cream cheese layer evenly. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set up. Enjoy.
