Chopped Italian Sub Sandwich

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl & tongs
  • cutting board & sharp knife
  • medium mixing bowl and whisk
  • bread knife

Ingredients

  • 4-6 fresh hoagie or sub sandwich rolls

Salad Ingredients

  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 1/4 lb hard salami, chopped
  • 1/4 lb pepperoni, chopped
  • 1/4 lb deli ham, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, chopped
  • 1/4 cup muenster cheese, chopped
  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup jarred banana peppers, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered

Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 TBS Zesty Italian Salad Dressing
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1-2 TBS banana pepper juice from jar

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl combine all salad ingredients. In a medium bowl whisk together Dressing ingredients. Pour dressing into salad ingredients and using a tong mix well to combine carefully.
  • Fill hoagie or sub rolls with salad mixture to make your Chopped Italian Sub Sandwich.
    NOTE: you can pull out some of the bread from the center of the rolls to make a skinny sandwich with less bread.
