Creamy Sausage, Broccolini, & Pasta Skillet

Ingredients

  • 16 oz uncooked orecchiette pasta (or other small pasta)
  • 1/2 TBS salt
  • 2 bunches broccolini, rinsed
  • 1 LB bulk italian sausage
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt, (or to taste)
  • 1 TBS flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil. Stir in salt & uncooked pasta. Cook per directions on back of package. About 2-3 minutes before pasta is done add in the broccolini. When pasta is done, drain the pasta and broccolini separately. Chop up broccolini into bite size pieces.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat break up sausage and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess grease out. Add in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (0pt).
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute while stirring.
  • Stir in chicken broth and heavy whipping cream. Stir in cooked broccolini, cooked & drained pasta, and parmesan cheese. Taste for extra seasonings, if needed. Enjoy.
