Creamy Sausage, Broccolini, & Pasta Skillet
Ingredients
- 16 oz uncooked orecchiette pasta (or other small pasta)
- 1/2 TBS salt
- 2 bunches broccolini, rinsed
- 1 LB bulk italian sausage
- 2 tsp garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt, (or to taste)
- 1 TBS flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Stir in salt & uncooked pasta. Cook per directions on back of package. About 2-3 minutes before pasta is done add in the broccolini. When pasta is done, drain the pasta and broccolini separately. Chop up broccolini into bite size pieces.
- In a large skillet over medium high heat break up sausage and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess grease out. Add in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (0pt).
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute while stirring.
- Stir in chicken broth and heavy whipping cream. Stir in cooked broccolini, cooked & drained pasta, and parmesan cheese. Taste for extra seasonings, if needed. Enjoy.
