Crockpot Barbecue Green Beans
A delicious side with a yummy homemade bbq sauce slow cooked into fresh green beans.
Equipment
- 6 quart crockpot/slow cooker
Ingredients
- 2-3 lbs fresh green beans, cut ends off, rinse and dry off
- 2 medium yellow or white onions, diced
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite flavor or brand)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4-6 pcs bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
Instructions
- Place green beans and diced onion into crockpot.
- In a small bowl whisk together barbecue sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and brown sugar. Pour mixture all over green beans. Stir until green beans are all coated.
- Place lid on and cook on low 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until desired softness is achieved on the green beans.
- Mix in crisp bacon pieces. (NOTE: you can place bacon in while green beans are cooking or after.)
- Enjoy.
Can you use can and will the cooking time be different?
Yes, you can use green beans from the can just cut your cook time in half and cook them till you get the desired texture you’re looking for.
