Homemade Brown Gravy Mix

Equipment

  • small mixing bowl
  • measuring cups & spoons
  • small funnel
  • air tight container with lid
  • small whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup corn starch
  • 4 TBS beef granules
  • 4 TBS garlic powder
  • 4 TBS onion powder
  • 2 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Instructions

Making Dry Homemade Brown Gravy Mix

  • Whisk together all ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Spoon mixture into an airtight container & store in a cool dry place.

Make Gravy using Dry Gravy Mix

  • In a medium sauce pan add 1/4 cup dry gravy mix, 1 cup water, and 1 TBS of butter. Heat over medium heat while while continuously whisking to remove lumps. Whisk in additional 1 cup of water. Season with salt, if needed. Remove from heat after gravy has thickened.
