The flavors in this picadillo dish are so amazing. So simple, easy, and delicious. A great weeknight meal to put together really fast in your Instant Pot.
Instant Pot Cuban Beef Picadillo
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion diced
- 2 TBS garlic minced
- 1 tomato diced
- 1/2 bell pepper diced any color
- 3 TBS cilantro chopped
- 4 oz tomato sauce
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1-2 bay leaves
- 5-10 green olives halved with pimentos
- salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Press saute mode on Instant Pot. After heated up add 1 TBS olive oil and brown up meat.
- Add onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro, salt and pepper. Stir and make sure all bit are scraped off bottom of pan.
- Add olives, olive brine to taste, cumin, bay leaves, tomato sauce. Stir well.
- Place lid on Instant pot. Turn on to pressure cooker, high pressure, 15 minutes. Make sure nozzle on top of lid is on the sealed position.
- After 15 minutes is done, do a natural release or quick release.
- Serve over rice and enjoy.
