  • whisk & wooden spoon
  • measuring cups & measuring spoons
  • sheet pan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted & cooled slightly
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecan pieces
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 unbaked 9" deep dish pie shell, thawed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl whisk together sugar and flour. Add in eggs, butter, and vanilla. Mix well to combine using a wooden spoon. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour mixture into pie crust.
NOTE: make sure pie shell is in a pie dish. The frozen pie crusts usually come in a foil pie dish. If making your own homemade crust insert into a pie dish.
  • Bake for 60 minutes until golden brown. Insert toothpick in middle of pie and it should come out clean.
NOTE: If pie crust starts to brown halfway through cooking time, cover with foil or a pie ring and continue to bake.
  • Cool pie completely before serving.
