

Mongolian Ground Beef Cabbage Skillet

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium head cabbage, cut into strips
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 TBS low sodium soy sauce
- 2 TBS sesame oil
- 2 TBS rice vinegar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 tsp (each) salt & black pepper ( to taste)
- 1/2 tsp (each) garlic powder & onion powder
- 2 green onions, sliced (garnish)
- sesame seeds (garnish)
Instructions
- In large deep skillet break up and brown ground beef over medium high heat until no longer pink and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
- Add in onion and cook until onions are softened 3-4 minutes.
- Add in minced garlic. Stir for 1 minute to release aromas.
- Stir in shredded cabbage. Sautee until slightly wilted about 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ground ginger, red pepper flakes (opt), garlic powder, onion powder, and salt & pepper (to taste).
- Stir sauce into cabbage mixture and cook an additional 2-3 minutes until cabbage is tender. Taste for additional salt & pepper, if needed.
- Garnish with green onions and/or sesame seeds before serving, if desired.
