Welcome back everyone. I am calling out
0:02
to you my chip and dip lovers. I have
0:06
one for you called boat house dip. It is
0:09
a summertime favorite and you don't need
0:12
a boat for this recipe. Okay, this is so
0:16
easy. It's seven ingredients. You don't
0:18
need your stove or your oven. It's got a
0:20
smooth texture. It's got bold flavors
0:23
and it's going to hold up to any kind of
0:25
chip or veggie that you want to dip it
0:28
with. Okay, y'all ready? Grab a large
0:31
bowl.
0:35
I got mine. All right, let's start with
0:38
those ingredients.
0:39
My recipe calls for one cup of sour
0:43
cream and one cup of mayonnaise. You can
0:46
switch that up any way you want as long
0:49
as you get 16 oz of creaminess
0:54
into this recipe. If you want to do a
0:56
whole 16 ounces of sour cream or a whole
1:00
16 ounces of mayonnaise,
1:03
if you want to switch it up and add
1:07
original regular flavored yogurt, you
1:10
can do that, y'all.
1:13
Whatever you like as a flavor
1:15
combination. I'm going with the
1:18
mayonnaise and the sour cream. The sour
1:21
cream will add a nice tanginess to it.
1:24
And I love the mayonnaise.
1:27
It will help hold all the ingredients
1:30
together with that creaminess. All
1:32
right, we're going to place this into
1:34
our large bowl.
1:36
Y'all let me know what you like.
1:40
I find that the mayonnaise takes care of
1:42
some of that tanginess from the sour
1:44
cream, but I like the smoothness of the
1:46
sour cream.
1:51
There we go. I'm just going to kind of
1:53
blend this together. Get it started.
1:57
We're going to add one can of Rotel
2:00
tomatoes. Rotel tomatoes is just diced
2:04
tomatoes with green chilies in it. And
2:07
I'm using the 10 oz can. And then what
2:09
we'll do is drain it. I'm using the mild
2:12
version, which I always like to put into
2:15
things, but sometimes I wind up with the
2:16
original, which is a little more heat,
2:20
but you can add any heat level you want
2:22
to this recipe here. All right, let's
2:26
drain them.
2:28
Rotel will add a nice punch of flavor.
2:35
And you can do the heat whatever you
2:37
want. I mean, you can not even do the
2:39
Rotel. You could do just regular diced
2:41
tomatoes and drain them and just put
2:42
about 10 ounces in there cuz we are
2:44
going to add something else in here
2:45
that'll give it some more spice. And
2:48
that spice
2:50
is going to be taco seasoning. Now, I
2:54
have my own homemade blend. And if y'all
2:56
can see that, try to get the color on
2:59
there. There we go.
3:01
It's going to take about three
3:03
tablespoons.
3:05
Now, the three tablespoons is going to
3:08
give you that 1 oz package that you can
3:10
get from your store also. So, if you
3:12
have a favorite brand or heat level over
3:15
at the store, you can do that also. So,
3:17
we're going to add that in.
3:21
Oo, that smells so good. Y'all should
3:24
make your own homemade blend. I have
3:25
this recipe on my recipe blog,
3:27
cathersplates.com. It's called Big Batch
3:30
Taco Seasoning. Look at that color.
3:33
There's no additives, no preservatives,
3:35
nothing to keep it from caking, none of
3:37
that. There we go. Three.
3:42
That's going to give it a nice flavor in
3:45
there for sure. We're going to add
3:48
one packet, which is 1 oz. This is.9 oz
3:53
of a ranch dip mix. It's just the powder
3:57
form here. and it'll give it a nice
4:00
savory herby flavor,
4:04
which is what we're going to want. Oh,
4:06
look at that. I don't know if y'all can
4:07
see that. I'm gonna bring y'all really
4:09
close to that. Really, really close.
4:13
Really, really close.
4:15
There we go. All right, let's see what
4:17
we got so far. One, two, three, four,
4:22
five. All right, let's go get ingredient
4:25
number six.
4:26
We're going to grate 8 oz of sharp
4:30
cheddar cheese, which will give us two
4:32
cups. Now, cheese is always measured
4:35
differently.
4:39
Now, I'm doing the sharp cheddar cheese.
4:40
If you want to go the mild cheddar
4:42
cheese, you can do that. If you want to
4:43
add more flavor, you can do like the
4:45
pepper jack or the Monterey Jack.
4:48
Whatever you got going on, you can do
4:50
that with your cheese.
4:58
The colder the cheese, the better it is
5:00
to grate it. But we're going to put
5:03
fresh cheese in here. I don't want it to
5:05
get all in there. My cheese was sitting
5:07
out a little bit. Waiting for this.
5:12
All right, we're going to put it in
5:13
right on top of everything.
5:16
Look at that cheese. Nice and freshly
5:18
grated.
5:20
Mhm.
5:22
Now, if you've covered all your
5:24
ingredients,
5:27
you have enough cheese. If not, keep
5:29
grating. I'm just kidding.
5:33
Green onions. I've got four of them
5:35
here.
5:37
We're going to slice all the way down
5:39
into the green. Did y'all count the
5:41
ingredients so far that I have? Should
5:43
only be seven alto together. So, now the
5:47
green onions I love. It gives it a nice
5:50
little bite and it gives it a freshness,
5:53
little zing, another summerness to the
5:56
dish and I want lots of them. There's
5:59
lots of things coming up perfect for the
6:01
dip. We got Father's Day, Fourth of
6:02
July, Flag Day. In fact, we have a big
6:06
birthday celebration coming up and I can
6:09
make this
6:12
freshness, you guys.
6:14
Let's add that in. I'm going to place
6:16
half of them in and then I'm going to
6:19
save the rest for the top
6:22
as a garnish.
6:25
Get a fork and blend that all together.
6:27
Everything together.
6:30
Get it mixed in.
6:35
Y'all look at the colors in there.
6:38
All right. Can't get any better than
6:40
that. Look at that. I'm going to put
6:42
this into my serving bowl. We're going
6:44
to garnish it with the rest of the green
6:45
onions.
6:47
Let's do it.
6:49
Here's a nice bowl.
6:53
All right, let's load it up.
6:59
Let's top it with the green onions.
7:07
There we go. All right, let's grab a
7:09
chip and let's try this dip.
7:14
Now, because this is more of a taco
7:17
styled dip, I'm definitely going to use
7:20
a corn tortilla chip, but you can serve
7:23
this up any how you want. If you like
7:27
regular Ruffles chips, if you like pita
7:30
chips, if you like carrot sticks or
7:34
veggie sticks, even cucumber slices, if
7:36
you want to keep it nice and fresh and
7:38
healthy, you can do that also. Let's go
7:41
in and give it a try.
7:43
Who can help it? Not me. There we go.
7:49
Going to put a green onion on there.
7:51
There's my bite.
8:02
That's a very delicious boat house dip.
8:05
This will keep in your refrigerator for
8:07
up to four days in an airtight
8:10
container.
8:12
Here's this new dip for you guys. I've
8:14
got tons of them out there on my recipe
8:16
blog, katherine'splates.com. You can
8:18
search them out that way through
8:20

8:26
dips that way. All right, you guys, give
