Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water 105 degree temperature
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 TBS dry active yeast
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 - 3 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • egg wash (1 egg & 2 TBS water whisked)

Instructions

  • In a large stand mixer bowl, mix together sugar and warm water (temp 105 degrees).
  • Add in yeast and mix. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • To the same bowl add oil, egg, and salt. Combine in the mixer.
  • Start adding 1 cup of four at a time until all combined.
  • Insert the dough hook and allow machine to knead dough for 5 minutes. (If dough is sticky you can add the additional 1/2 cup flour while kneading.
  • In a large bowl add 1 TBS cooking oil and cover bottom and sides of bowl. Take dough and form into a ball and place into oiled bowl. Move dough ball around to coat with oil.
  • Place plastic wrap over bowl and secure. Place towel over that and set in a warm place for 45 minutes to rise. (I usually put in the microwave.)
  • The dough should have risen to twice it's size. Punch the dough with your fist to release the air.
  • Turn dough out onto your work surface. Cut dough into 2 halves. Form loaves. You can also form one loaf and use the other half to form small balls to make slider buns. (To form loaf, tuck the sides into the bottom until nice and smooth and form the oval shape.
  • Spray a bread pan with cooking spray, lay one dough loaf into pan. Place plastic over pan with a towel and set in warm place to rise again for 45 minutes. For rolls, lightly spray a sheet pan and place rolls onto it. Cover with plastic wrap and set in warm place for 45 minutes.
  • Brush the tops of loaf and rolls with the egg wash.
  • Place in preheated 375 degree oven on the bottom rack. The loaf will take about 40-45 minutes. The top should be golden brown and have a nice crust.
  • For the rolls, place in preheated 375 degree oven on bottom rack for 15-20 minutes. Keep in eye on these to make sure they don't over cook on the tops.
  • Let cool and enjoy.
