I grew up with homemade Pierogi that my mom would make. To this day she makes these for me to freeze and use when I need them. Pairing them with Kielbasa Sausage and a creamy cheesy sauce makes for a very comforting dish.
Pierogi & Sausage Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 bag frozen pierogi
- 1 pkg Polska Keilbasa, sliced into disks
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded
- cracked black pepper, to taste
- Extra cheese for topping
- green onion slices or chives for garnish.
Instructions
- Cook pierogi first. Boil in water for a few minutes. Place in lightly sprayed casserole dish.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Place sliced kielbasa sausage into casserole dish with pierogi.
- In a medium bowl add cream cheese, shredded cheese, black pepper, chicken broth, and sour cream. Mix well.
- Pour over sausage and pierogi. Mix well.
- Cover casserole dish with tin foil. Bake for 22-25 minutes. Remove tin foil. Sprinkle extra cheese on it. Place oven on broil and cook for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle with green onions or chives. Enjoy.
