Sausage & Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 1 pkg whole fresh mushrooms large
- 1 TBS vegetable oil
- 1 TBS minced garlic
- 1 (8) oz cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb pork sausage
- 1/4 cup finely diced onions
- 1/3 cup panko crumbs or bread crumbs
- 3 tsp dried basil
- 1 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 3 TBS melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Clean off mushrooms with a paper towel. Pull off stems and place mushrooms into a greased baking dish. Chop stems into small pieces.
- In a large skillet, brown sausage. Add onions, chopped stems, and garlic and cook for 5 minutes. Add cream cheese and parmesan cheese, stir until melted. Stir in bread crumbs, basil, and parsley.
- Brush mushrooms with melted butter. Spoon sausage mixture into mushroom caps.
- Bake uncovered for 12-15 minutes until tender.
