  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced (DIVIDED)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 oz thousand island dressing (DIVIDED)
  • 1 cup dill pickle, diced
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

  • In a large skillet over medium high heat brown ground beef and cook onion until softened. Turn off heat. Drain excess grease.
  • To ground beef add mayo, 4 oz thousand island dressing, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and diced pickle. Stir well to combine.
  • Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle cheese over meat mixture evenly. Lay tater tots in a single layer to cover casserole.
  • Place casserole in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until tots are crisp and golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • ToP with shredded lettuce, 1/4 diced onion, and remainder 4 oz thousand island dressing. Enjoy.

Made this dish last night for our dinner. It was fantastic, so favorable . It truly did taste very close to a big ma. The thousand island dressing really makes it. It was a two helping dish for both of us. Thanks for posting. I make lots of your recipes. Thanks, John B
