Turkey Cheese Ball Appetizer

What a perfect table center piece. A Cheese Ball shaped like a turkey. They will gobble this one up.

Ingredients

Cheese Ball Ingredients

  • 1 (8oz block) cream cheese softened
  • 16 oz shredded white cheddar cheese or regular cheddar
  • 2 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powcer
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder (opt)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Turkey Ingredients

  • 1 long red bell pepper
  • pecan halves
  • tiny bit of extra cream cheese
  • tiny piece of yellow cheese or a tiny piece of yellow bell pepper

Instructions

To Make Cheese Ball

  • In a large bowl beat cream cheese with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese, chopped pecans, and all seasonings listed for cheese ball.
  • Place mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Take another piece of plastic wrap and place over the mixture, using it to form a round firm ball. Wrap in the plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.

Create Turkey

  • NOTE: Please see video link below to follow for steps to create the turkey head and neck if needed.
  • or cut 1/4 of the red bell pepper and lay flat. Cut into a crescent shape with a tip on the bottom to fit into cheese ball.
  • Place a dab of cream cheese on the top of crescent and place a small triangular pieces of cheese or yellow pepper on the cream cheese. This will create the beak.
  • Place a small dab of cream cheese using a toothpick near the beak to create an eye for the turkey.
  • Remove cheese ball from refrigerator and take off all plastic wrap. Place onto center of your serving plate.
  • Cut a slit into one side of the cheese ball to fit the neck portion of the red bell pepper turkey head.
  • In 3-4 rows behind the turkey neck, push pecans halves into cheese ball to form the feathers. Place some in front of the neck also. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Place party crackers all around the turkey cheese ball. Enjoy.
