Gooey Chocolate Butter Cake Bars
Made easy with box cake mix and 6 additional ingredients.

- 1 (15.25 oz) box dark chocolate cake mix (or other type chocolate cake mix)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 4 large eggs (DIVIDED)
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 TBS cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl using an electric hand mixer beat cake & softened butter together to form a crumb mixture.
Beat in 2 eggs until a thick batter has formed. Place batter into prepared baking dish and smooth out evenly.
In a separate large mixing bowl beat cream cheese until fluffy using electric hand mixer. Beat in remaining 2 eggs, cocoa powder and vanilla extract until well mixed.
Beat in 4 cups of powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until a smooth mixture forms.
Pour mixture over the batter in the baking dish and spread evenly. (DO NOT COMBINE BOTH LAYERS.)
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Cool before cutting into bar shapes and serving.
