large bowl
medium bowl
9 x 13 baking dish
- 6 medium apples, cored, and cut into wedges (I used honey crisp apples for this recipe)
- 2-3 TBS lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 TBS ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 TBS butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Wash, core and cut into wedges 6 apples. Place wedges into a large bowl and add 2-3 TBS lemon juice and mix well to coat all apple wedges. Set aside.
In a medium bowl whisk together flour and brown sugar. Add in melted butter, salt and pecans. Mix with a wooden spoon. Set side.
Place apple wedges into the prepared 9 x 13 baking dish. Cover apples with sugar, cinnamon and ginger. Mix well and spread evenly in dish.
Evenly distribute crumble mixture all over apples.
Bake uncovered for 50 minutes until crumb mixture is browned and sauce is bubbly.
Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes. Serve with ice cream if desired. Enjoy.
