Cinnamon Sugar Pecans
A great holiday food gift idea. You can use any type of nuts for this recipe.
Equipment
- large mixing bowl & whisk
- ziploc or storage gallon bag
- spatula
- large sheet pan lined with parchment or a silacone mat
- decorative container
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 medium egg white
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp water
- 1 lb unsalted pecan halves
Instructions
- In a large ziploc or storage gallon size bag place sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Zip bag closed and shake well to combine. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl place egg white, water, and vanilla extract. Whisk until frothy. (Takes about 2-3 minutes.) Toss in pecans and coat them well.
- Pour coated pecans into bag with the cinnamon, sugar, salt mixture. Seal bag and shake carefully until all pecans are coated evenly.
- Spread coated pecans on to a parchment or silicone lined large sheet pan. (Try to evenly spread them in one layer.)
- Bake in 250 degree preheated oven for 1 hour. Every 20 minutes, stir the pecans.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Getting g to try these delicious looking pecans. How much cayenne woukd you suggest adding?
That all depends on whoever will be eating them. You can try starting with 1/4 tsp and go up from there if desired.
