Cinnamon Sugar Pecans

A great holiday food gift idea. You can use any type of nuts for this recipe.

Equipment

  • large mixing bowl & whisk
  • ziploc or storage gallon bag
  • spatula
  • large sheet pan lined with parchment or a silacone mat
  • decorative container

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 medium egg white
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp water
  • 1 lb unsalted pecan halves

Instructions

  • In a large ziploc or storage gallon size bag place sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Zip bag closed and shake well to combine. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl place egg white, water, and vanilla extract. Whisk until frothy. (Takes about 2-3 minutes.) Toss in pecans and coat them well.
  • Pour coated pecans into bag with the cinnamon, sugar, salt mixture. Seal bag and shake carefully until all pecans are coated evenly.
  • Spread coated pecans on to a parchment or silicone lined large sheet pan. (Try to evenly spread them in one layer.)
  • Bake in 250 degree preheated oven for 1 hour. Every 20 minutes, stir the pecans.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
