Classic Brown Gravy
No brown gravy packets needed for this easy brown gravy recipe. Just simple pantry items.
Equipment
- Medium sauce pan
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1-2 tsp Worcestershire
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 TBS cornstarch
- 1 TBS butter
Instructions
- In a medium sauce pan over high heat, bring beef broth, chicken broth, Worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Whisk altogether while bringing it to a boil.
- In a small bowl mix together water and cornstarch. Pour cornstarch mixture into broth. Stir while boiling to help thicken. Drop heat down to a medium low. Continue mixing for 1 minute until a gravy consistency.
- Add butter and whisk until butter is melted and incorporated into the gravy. Taste for additional seasonings.
- You can serve immediately or cool and place in refrigerator for up to 5 days.
