Classic Brown Gravy

No brown gravy packets needed for this easy brown gravy recipe. Just simple pantry items.

Equipment

  • Medium sauce pan

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1-2 tsp Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 TBS cornstarch
  • 1 TBS butter

Instructions

  • In a medium sauce pan over high heat, bring beef broth, chicken broth, Worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Whisk altogether while bringing it to a boil.
  • In a small bowl mix together water and cornstarch. Pour cornstarch mixture into broth. Stir while boiling to help thicken. Drop heat down to a medium low. Continue mixing for 1 minute until a gravy consistency.
  • Add butter and whisk until butter is melted and incorporated into the gravy. Taste for additional seasonings.
  • You can serve immediately or cool and place in refrigerator for up to 5 days.
