Equipment

  • large skillet
  • cutting board & sharp knife
  • 9 x 13 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 oz gravy packet (chicken or brown flavor)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (10oz) can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 (10oz) can cream of celery soup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 16 oz frozen crinkle cut french fries
  • parsley, fresh or dried for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, brown up ground beef, onion, and bell pepper. Drain excess grease. Season with black pepper and garlic powder. Stir in soups. Turn off heat.
  • In a medium sauce pan make gravy per instructions on back of package. (Place dry gravy mix and 1 cup of water into sauce pan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 minute. Turn off heat.
  • In prepared baking dish spread evenly the meat mixture. Top evenly with monterey jack cheese. Top evenly with gravy. Top evenly with cheddar cheese. Top evenly with french fries. Season top of french fries with salt & pepper.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Allow to rest 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh or dried parsley on top.
