French Silk Pie Brownie

Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 4 oz semi sweet chocolate chips (you can also use chocolate bar or other flavor or chocolate chips)
  • 4 TBS butter, cubed
  • 1 (8) oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups powedered or confectioners sugar
  • 16 oz whipped topping (cool whip)
  • extra chocolate chips to garnish

Instructions

  • In an 8x8 backing dish repare brownies per instructions on back of box, all the way through the cooking stage and allow to cool.
  • In a large microwave safe bowl, place chocolate chips and butter. Heat on high for 15-30 seconds, stir, and repeat until you have a smooth mixture.
  • Add cream cheese in chunks. Beat with a hand mixer until mixed well.
  • Add confectioners sugar 1/2 cup at a time until nicely combined.
  • Add in 1/2 of the whipped topped and using a spatula fold into mixture carefully as to not flatten the mixture.
  • Spread mixture over cooled brownies. Refrigerate for 4 hours to overnight.
  • eCut into squares first then top with remaining cool whip and garnish with extra chocolate chips.
