Fried Ice Cream

Seriously, let’s take the most loved treat during summer time and make it scrumptious. Use your favorite cereal, wrap it around ice cream and fry it up. What?? Is that possible?? Check it out.

Fried Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 4 egg white
  • 4 cups cereal (Golden Grahams) or another favorite cereal
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • chocolate syrup garnish
  • whipped topping garnish

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop ice cream using a 2 inch ice cream scoop and place onto prepared baking sheet. Freeze for 1-2 hours.
  • Lightly beat egg whites in a medium bowl.
  • Using a ziploc bag, place cereal in and crush into tiny pieces. Place into a separate medium bowl.
  • Take ice cream balls out of freezer and one at a time dip into egg mixture until completely covered. Place into bowl of cereal pieces and roll and pack until completely covered. (Dip twice for extra crispness.) Return back to pan and place into freezer for another 1-2 hours.
  • in a large dutch oven fill with 2-4 inches of vegetable oil and bring temperature of oil up to 350 degrees.
  • Take ice cream balls out of freezer at this time and place into hot oil and move them around for 1 minute.
  • Remove immediately onto a paper towel lined plate to drain.
  • Serve right away on a separate plate and garnish with chocolate syrup and whipped topping.
