Equipment

  • large mixing bowl
  • sheet pans
  • cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 stick butter, melted (1/2 cup)
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup candy corns

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl mix together both sugars. Add in melted butter, vanilla and egg. Stir until combined.
  • Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until combined.
  • Mix in chocolate chips and candy corns.
  • Scoop onto prepared baking pans. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cookies are lightly browned on edges.
NOTE: Some of the candy corns will melt onto sheet pan and harden during cooling down time. This is fine.
  • After cookies come out of the oven, place additional candy corns and chocolate chips on hot cookie. Allow cookies to rest on pan for 5 minutes or so to set up. Remove cookies from pan and cool completely on a wire cooling rack.
