Instant Pot Cuban Beef Picadillo

The flavors in this picadillo dish are so amazing. So simple, easy, and delicious.  A great weeknight meal to put together really fast in your Instant Pot.

Instant Pot Cuban Beef Picadillo

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 TBS garlic minced
  • 1 tomato diced
  • 1/2 bell pepper diced any color
  • 3 TBS cilantro chopped
  • 4 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • 5-10 green olives halved with pimentos
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Press saute mode on Instant Pot. After heated up add 1 TBS olive oil and brown up meat.
  • Add onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro, salt and pepper. Stir and make sure all bit are scraped off bottom of pan.
  • Add olives, olive brine to taste, cumin, bay leaves, tomato sauce. Stir well.
  • Place lid on Instant pot. Turn on to pressure cooker, high pressure, 15 minutes. Make sure nozzle on top of lid is on the sealed position.
  • After 15 minutes is done, do a natural release or quick release.
  • Serve over rice and enjoy.
