Equipment

  • large bowl
  • medium bowl
  • 9 x 13 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples, cored, and cut into wedges (I used honey crisp apples for this recipe)
  • 2-3 TBS lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 TBS ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 TBS butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • Wash, core and cut into wedges 6 apples. Place wedges into a large bowl and add 2-3 TBS lemon juice and mix well to coat all apple wedges. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together flour and brown sugar. Add in melted butter, salt and pecans. Mix with a wooden spoon. Set side.
  • Place apple wedges into the prepared 9 x 13 baking dish. Cover apples with sugar, cinnamon and ginger. Mix well and spread evenly in dish.
  • Evenly distribute crumble mixture all over apples.
  • Bake uncovered for 50 minutes until crumb mixture is browned and sauce is bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes. Serve with ice cream if desired. Enjoy.

  • I made this for my family as my first Fall Dessert and I must tell you we loved it. Made it with walnuts instead, it was delicious. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with all of us.
    God bless
