Cheesy Pizza Skillet Dip

Ingredients

  • 6 TBS butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder, DIVIDED
  • 16 oz Rhodes frozen dinner rolls, thawed
  • 1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded, DIVIDED
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni
  • optional toppings; mushrooms, cooked sausage, bell peppers, onions, etc.

Instructions

  • Thaw dinner rolls onto a parchment lined sheet pan for 4-5 hours on countertop. Cover top of rolls with parchment also.
  • Combine butter and 1 tsp garlic powder together in small bowl. Cut each thawed dinner roll into 4 equal parts and roll into ball shapes.
  • Dip each dough ball into butter mixture and place on the outer edge of a 10 or 12 inch cast iron skillet, leaving center of skillet open. Create 2 rows of dough balls. Place remainder of dough balls on top of bottom layer of dough balls.
  • Cover and allow dough to rise for 30 minutes until almost doubled in size.
  • Meanwhile combine, cream cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, italian seasoning, and 1/2 tsp garlic powder.
  • After dough balls have risen, place the cheese mixture in center of skillet. Pour pizza sauce over cheese mixture evenly and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Top with pepperoni and other optional cooked toppings. Brush tops of dough balls with remaining seasoned butter.
  • Bake in 400 degree preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until rolls are done and golden brown.
  • Using a spoon scoop out dip along with rolls. Enjoy.
