Dutch Baby Pancake

How easy to make pancakes for everyone all in one 9 x 13 baking dish. The pancake of many names. Dutch Baby, German Pancake, Fluffy Pancake, etc. It's delicious.

Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 9 x 13 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 6 TBS butter
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • extras for topping (powdered sugar, blueberries or other favorite fruit, maple syrup

Instructions

  • Place 6 TBS butter in 9 x 13 baking dish. Place baking dish in oven and start preheating at 425 degrees. Once butter has melted pull out of oven before it starts to brown and place on stove top.
  • Meanwhile in a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, white granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk in eggs, milk and vanilla until smooth. Pour batter into hot baking dish over the melted butter.
  • Place baking dish back in 425 degree oven and bake for 20-22 minutes until edges are golden brown and real puffy. The liquid in the center is melted butter and will absorb into pancake.
  • Remove from oven and serve warm with powdered sugar, favorite fruit and maple syrup.
    (Leftovers can be kept in refrigerator for 3 days.)
