Hello everyone, welcome back. It is
0:02
dinner time and I'm going to show you
0:04
how to make a quick and easy weekn night
0:06
meal. We are going to stuff Italian
0:10
sausages. This recipe is only five
0:12
ingredients. It's cheesy, it's saucy,
0:15
and it is delicious. Let's go ahead and
0:18
get started. The first two ingredients
0:20
are peppers and onions.
0:22
Now, with the peppers, just wash them
0:24
off really good. And then what I like to
0:26
do is just start on the side right here.
0:30
and just work your way around that seed
0:34
all the way to the other side.
0:40
Toss that. And then we're going to run a
0:42
knife through to make strips.
0:47
And I think what I'm going to do is kind
0:49
of half of each pepper. Now, just watch
0:52
your fingers when you're doing this.
0:54
Gonna kind of do these fairly thin so
0:57
they can get nice and soft when they're
0:58
cooking with the sausages.
1:01
I've decided to do half of each pepper.
1:03
That way we have lots of color going on
1:06
and it'll look really good.
1:09
And then you can use the other half of
1:11
the peppers for salads or any other type
1:14
of dishes that you want. Like you can do
1:22
Who wouldn't want to eat this? Look at
1:25
We're going to scoot these off to the
1:27
side and then we're going to slice up
1:29
some onion. I got two yellow onions.
1:34
Just cut off both ends.
1:38
I'm just peeling off that outer layer.
1:42
Actually struggling with that.
1:45
Cut the onion in half. And then we're
1:48
just going to slice it like we did the
1:50
peppers here. That way they all can look
1:54
We'll take a look at how much onion we
1:56
have to the peppers here and then I'll
1:58
see if I need to do the other onion.
2:01
Now I'm going to pop these apart and
2:02
then mix them in with the peppers.
2:06
All right, now we're going to mix them
2:08
all in. And I think that one onion was
2:13
There we go. Look at that. Pretty.
2:16
Now, what we're going to do is grab our
2:18
third ingredient, which is a marinara
2:20
sauce. This is a 24 oz jar.
2:27
And we're going to put half of it on the
2:30
bottom of a 9 by13 baking dish.
2:36
That's good. Save the other half.
2:42
Shake it. Shake it. Shake it to cover
2:51
All right. Grab all your peppers and
2:53
onions. I love them. Spread them all
2:59
Just like that. Have some fun with it.
3:03
Get it nice and even down there at the
3:09
All right, let's stuff some sausages.
3:12
Now, we're going to be using five of
3:14
these mild Italian sausages. And that's
3:18
what they look like right here.
3:21
Now, what we want to do is peel them out
3:37
We're going to use some cheese sticks.
3:41
Now, what you want to do is take it, lay
3:43
it on your board, one of the sausages,
3:46
and then we're going to slit through
3:48
from one end to the other end. But you
3:50
don't want to go all the way through.
3:52
Just about 3/4 of the way, just to make
4:01
to get a nice opening there. And then
4:04
we're going to take one of the
4:05
cheesesticks and we're going to open it
4:11
And then you're going to place it right
4:13
into the center and push it in.
4:17
And then what you want to do,
4:22
squish it closed. Keep all that cheese
4:27
Kind of form it around it. There we go.
4:29
Seal it up. It'll bust open in there.
4:34
And then we're going to lay it in our
4:35
sheetpan. Now, nestle it on in to the
4:37
peppers and the onions
4:40
so that the cheese side is facing
4:44
Nestle them on in. I'm so excited for
4:49
It's a little different than what I used
4:53
is that it's stuffed with cheese. Just
4:56
open it up once you split it there with
4:57
the knife. Grab your cheese stick.
5:02
I had my big kid in the kitchen, Thomas,
5:05
helping with the cheese sticks.
5:07
>> Yep, I'm a big kid now.
5:17
>> All right, move these down. We can get
5:23
And then the last one. There we go.
5:29
All right, we're going to take the rest
5:30
of that sauce and we're going to go
5:32
around the sides in between the sausages
5:50
Like that. Then we're going to season
6:19
We're going to bake it in a preheated
6:21
400 degree 400 degree oven.
6:27
for 30 minutes and then we are going to
6:30
remove the foil and bake it another 10
6:33
minutes or so till those sausages are
6:35
cooked through nice and tender and those
6:37
veggies are tender also. I'll be back.
6:40
Don't those look delicious? I love how
6:42
the cheese just kind of burst out of the
6:44
top there. But make sure that they're
6:46
deep in there so that that does that and
6:48
not leaks out into your dish. These
6:50
peppers and onions are nice and tender.
6:53
They stewed in that marinara sauce and
6:56
those peppers and onions and then we
6:58
seasoned everything. Y'all, I'm going to
7:00
pop one of these on a plate. We made
7:02
some mashed potatoes. I'm going to serve
7:03
it up with some of those peppers and
7:04
onions. We're going to give it a try.
7:08
Let's cut in. Now, I made sure that my
7:10
sausages were cooked through.
7:28
All right, I got some of that sauce on
7:54
Some peppers and onions.
8:11
[laughter] I put some of that sauce in
8:13
there on the mashed potatoes. Those
8:14
mashed potatoes are Bob Evans. They come
8:16
out of the refrigerated section of your
8:18
grocery store. We heated them up with a
8:20
little bit of butter, milk, salt,
8:21
pepper, and garlic powder.
8:23
It's like the real thing. All right, you
8:25
guys. Let me know what you think of my
8:28
Italian stuffed sausages with peppers
8:33
easily. Five ingredients. All right, you
8:36
guys. I'll see y'all on the next one. I
8:38
hope you enjoy this one. Bye, you guys.
